The stone combined with the month of April is the diamond, the king of precious stones.

The word "diamond" comes from the ancient Greek adamas, which means unalterable, just or indestructible. A really accurate description: diamonds are one of the hardest substances ever discovered. In fact, the only thing that can affect a diamond is another diamond. Today's diamonds come from different places, including South Africa, Russia, Australia, Canada and the United States. Before being discovered in Brazil, in the years around 1700, all diamonds were extracted in India. Regardless of where they come from, it is believed that all diamonds are between two and three billion years old, so we can say that they retain an ancient memory, capable of being translated into wisdom. In fact, the first texts written in Sanskrit already refer to diamonds, as well as Buddhist literature dating back to the 4th century BC In a Chinese text of the 3rd century BC there is a reference to a widespread belief that diamonds could protect the person wearing them from the evil one. Similarly, even the ancient Hindus believed that diamonds had the power to protect those who wore them from evil. Legends about diamonds abound. The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that diamonds were splinters detached from falling stars or that they were the tears of the gods. In Latin literature, Cupid hurled arrows with diamond points. In the Middle Ages, diamonds were considered curative for various ailments: from nightmares to headaches and stomach pains. In crystal therapy sessions diamonds are often used to give purification and balance, as well as to evoke positive and encouraging thoughts and to attract material prosperity. Diamond, like all precious stones, symbolizes moral and intellectual values, is the image of spiritual strength, perfection, greatness. It is a stone that has the ability to shine in the dark because it has unique optical properties: it is transparent to ultraviolet light, usually it has no color or is subtly colored in shades of yellow, pink, blue and green.

The diamond is the symbol of the different facets of the personality, such as purity, innocence, invincibility, strength.

No other precious stone is judged so carefully and categorized before it arrives on the market. The most important qualities of evaluation of a diamond are the famous "Quattro C": the cut (from the English "cut"), the purity ("clarity"), the color ("color"), and the weight in carats ( "carat"). The diamond has always symbolized the truth: this is why it is the perfect stone to express to the beloved woman the true, unbreakable strength of the promise of love that you go to make with a marriage proposal or even a romantic declaration. The most popular jewel for this type of occasion is of course the ring. Solitaire or Trilogy, the diamond set on a gold, white, yellow or pink circle is a guarantee of emotion and joy in the one who will receive it. The three identical stones set in the Trilogy symbolize the past, the present and the future. However we can say that the diamond is the perfect stone to give on any important occasion.
